Not one. Not two. Four. Settld has been shortlisted across four categories in two of the country’s most closely watched property and proptech awards programs.

The Urban Developer has named Settld a finalist for Best New Proptech in its 2026 Awards for Industry Excellence, with winners announced at the gala on the Gold Coast on July 24. At the same time, Proptech Australia has shortlisted Settld in three categories for its 2026 Proptech Awards: Workflow & Transactions in the Start-Up division, Off The Plan in the Open Awards, and Proptech of the Year – Start-Up, the night’s top start-up honour. That gala runs at The Ivy in Sydney on July 2.

Two juries, working independently, looking at different evidence, have arrived at the same conclusion: the gap between contract exchange and handover has been under-served by technology for too long, and Settld is closing it.

Why settlement, and why now

Off-the-plan settlement is the part of a property purchase cycle where the most can go wrong with the least visibility. Buyers wait 18 to 24 months for a property that was sold off a floor plan, and the people managing the process, developers and the project marketers representing them, have historically had to do it through spreadsheets, email chains, and a lot of manual chasing.

Settld was built to replace that with structure: branded buyer communications that go out automatically and on schedule, finance and document readiness tracked against milestones, and a reporting layer that gives developers and project marketers visibility into exactly where every settlement stands. The platform tracks distinct finance states and runs a reporting suite, with a companion buyer app that gives purchasers their own window into the process.

The thinking behind it is simple: settlement risk starts at contract exchange, not in the weeks before handover. By the time a developer or project marketer is dealing with a problem at the pointy end, it’s usually one that was visible months earlier, if anyone had been tracking it.

Built on expertise, shaped by the people who use it

Settld was built by people who understand the development and project marketing industries from the inside, and that foundation of expertise is what made it possible to design a platform that reflects how settlement works in practice rather than how it looks on paper.

From there, the product has been refined through close collaboration with the developers, project marketers, and partners who use it every day. That collaboration has sharpened the platform at every stage, stress-testing the thinking behind it and confirming where it’s solving the right problems. These nominations are a direct reflection of that work. They’re testament to the expertise behind the platform and the partnerships that have shaped it, and a huge achievement and validation for the whole Settld team.

What the nominations recognise

What stands out across both shortlists isn’t just the recognition for Settld, it’s validation of a problem the industry has been quietly absorbing for years. Settlement has gone without proper infrastructure for too long, and judges across two separate panels, independently, have looked at that gap and reached the same view: something needs to change in how this part of the property purchase lifecycle is managed.

That shift in thinking is what these nominations represent. It’s no longer a question of whether settlement deserves the same rigour as the sales phase, it’s a question of who’s building the infrastructure to deliver it.
